I don't know about Japan but maybe the 1st Gudetama Cafe is in Hong Kong.
I didn't have more info about except for its location and some photos from All about Hong Kong FB page.

Japan are the country that always uses the cartoon / Anime series the earn money by selling some merchandiser like T-Shirts , Shoes and more.
Japan are very good at a lot of things. They always do things "OUT OF THE BOX" which it always surprises people when it goes International. Japan is world well known car maker,but they are making lots of money through Manga,Anime. Like the famous Manga Naruto.
Their title "The Last" 1st day release at Japan already US10 Million profit sales in 1 day and it surprises the creator Mr.Masashi Kishimoto . The movie had gone International and it has been very success movie. Low cost high profit of course,creativity and productivity is play core role in this business
